HPLC Column, RP C4 Butyl, 3um, 2.1mm ID x 50mm Length, 100A. Cogent Brand. 1 EA.

Additional Information:

Cogent RP C4 Butyl™ is a reversed-phase HPLC stationary phase designed for the separation of hydrophobic to moderately hydrophobic compounds. Manufactured using a traditional butyl (C4) bonded phase on ultra-high purity silica and fully double end capped, it provides reproducible retention, excellent peak shape, and reliable performance for routine analytical methods. As a USP L26 equivalent phase, it is commonly used for method replacement, method development, and applications where less retention is desired than with C8 or C18 columns.

68304-05P-2 is an HPLC column packed with 3 µm RP C4 Butyl™ particles featuring a 100 Å pore size in a 2.1 mm ID x 50 mm format. This popular narrow-bore configuration is designed for rapid separations with reduced solvent consumption. The 3 µm particles provide greater efficiency and sharper peaks than comparable 5 µm columns, while the 50 mm length minimizes analysis times. Typical operating flow rates are approximately 0.2–0.3 mL/min. Because of the low flow rates required by 2.1 mm ID columns, HPLC systems must be capable of precise and reproducible low-flow operation, and detector flow cells should be appropriately configured for low-volume applications.

This column is particularly well suited for very hydrophobic and neutral compounds analyzed by reversed-phase chromatography. The combination of a short column length, narrow internal diameter, and lower-retention C4 chemistry makes it especially attractive for LC-MS applications where reduced solvent consumption, improved sensitivity, and fast analysis times are desired.
